Michele, Brian, and the rest of our amazing volunteers,
Thank you all so much for joining us this morning to glean apples at Longmeadow Farm! Thankfully, for the first time in several days, we had no rain and plenty of sunshine, which was perfect weather for gleaning. I had an awesome time talking to your volunteers about farming and gardening, and also hearing about how much work your Church does to help fight hunger in New Jersey.
In addition, many thanks are in order for Brad for having us out on his farm and for donating all of the apples we managed to rescue. Over 2,100 pounds of apples were collected and prevented from going to waste! That's an incredible amount of food to glean in just a few short hours, and we really appreciate everyone being so eager to help us in our fight against food insecurity. I hope to see you all again (whether this year or next), preferably in the fields!
Thank you again, and have a wonderful rest of the week. Devin Cornia
