Baptism

“Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit...” (Matthew 28:19)
The newly baptized person becomes a “new creation,” a “child of God,” and a member of the Body of Christ, the Church. The parish family of Our Lady of Perpetual Help welcomes these children with great joy. Our Baptism Team journeys with parents as they prepare for their child’s Baptism and offers ongoing support as parents nurture their young child’s growth in the faith.
Parents preparing for Baptism are asked to be registered in the parish. If you are not, please click here.
To ensure that parents are properly prepared to celebrate their child’s Baptism and to provide some practical information about the Baptism ceremony itself, we require that they attend a preparation session. The session is held in the church immediately following the 10:00am Mass on selected dates and lasts for about 45 minutes. Godparents are welcome to attend the session as well.

We do not normally schedule dates for Baptism in August or December, although this time we have included a December date. There are also no Baptisms during Lent, since Lent prepares us for the great baptismal feast of the Easter Vigil Mass on Holy Saturday, and consequently all infant baptisms are deferred until after that time.
